Picnic clothing very kindly leant clothing to a shoot I did over the weekend.

Picnic has examples of clothing online but this does NO justice to what’s actually in store. I went to the Subiaco store and there are so many nice things! Makes me think of a resort summer. So, so nice! Dresses. Tops, maxi dresses on sale as well, so check it out!

Another thing I love is their website – and they way they have done up ‘looks’. A good technique in showing people how to wear their items, and something a little different!

Love shoes? Love Dresses?

Having recently styled the latest leather collection for Vangoh shoes I am happy to say this store is nothing short of impressive. Catering to ladies of all ages in the time I was in the store (less than 20minutes) a girl in her early teens came in to buy some awesome sandals (it is festival season guys!) and an elderly lady and her friend (think perhaps 60’s or 70’s) came in to buy heels.

As all heels are not sky rocket high and many shoes are very functional with the ability to walk around in them all day, it’s no wonder everyone will find something they like in this store.

Located in Subiaco and owned by husband and wife team Raj and Vanessa, their customer service is exceptional. Raj is often found ‘hanging out’ in the store, offering customers chocolates, tea and coffee. I think he does it simply because he likes to know his clientelle and genuinely does not pressure you to buy anything, but rather just enjoy their relaxed atmosphere.

I really love the new season collection, and would happy own any one of these shoes! We did the shoot down at Matilda Bay Restaurant (a big thankyou to them as well) and used clothing from the fantastic EM clothing store, located next door. Ladies, if you need an outfit for an event in the near future, please make time to pick a great pair of shoes and an amazing Australian designer cocktail dress.

I know I sound like I'm babbling in about how great they are so they like me :) but in truth, so many people that walked in the store were really impressed thankful, and would recommend the store to friends. I sent my own mum there, before I had even been asked to style their leather collection, that’s how much good feedback I had heard about their store. Cmon people, my own mum.

Anyway, I don’t have photos yet! And part of their website seems to be lacking pictures so i cant share anything with you at this stage other than a promise of an amazing advertorial!

Anne Charlotte Menegaux is the name of the artist, her website has so many awesome pictures check it out if you want.

She has done lots of shoes, legs, handbags (shoes being one of my all time favourite things in life!!)

She has also done a really cool set of playing cards. I love the characters she’s created, the stylish pictures. What a great set of cards this would be if you owned it!

What to wear this holiday season ...

Just thought I would share with you a Happy Holidays editorial I styled a little while ago.


Bring on 2011 with a lot more challenges, work and new projects and people :)

Dress up simple jersey dresses, or plain colours with a metallic or fancy headpiece in a similar colour.

Add texture: add some fur (faux), some slick leather, some thick cashmere, summer is all about cotton which gets very boring very quickly. Change it up!

Get festive. Its ok, you can get away with sequins, sparkles and tassels as they are all so much more mainstream now. Feel free to go get a cocktail dress that looks like you fell in a pot of glitter. Just make sure you let the dress speak for itself and dont load up on accessories. Simple plain black ankle boots offset this perfectly.

Go Christmasy. OK so maybe this post is a little late, but dont be scared to dress head to toe in white, red and black for the Christmas / holiday season, although I would advise against green! Try silver or gold instead. 

Try 'Parisian'. This trend will stay strong as lady;like silhouettes and classic style will always be popular. Lace is still a good item to be wearing, and its well worth your while to get some lace items to add to your wardrobe.  This trend will come and go so dont splurge.

Inspired by the Chrysler building of Manhatten and weighed 30kg!!

This dress took 300hours to make! Jeepers, its so nice, I LOVE Rebecca's, style she always looks quite fashion forward and stylish. Very, very nice.
