An appetite for all things electric
Are we addicted to electricity? Is it possible that technology and invention have led us down a path we cannot turn back from?In a series of urban landscapes and colourful abstracts, photographer Ebony Frost explores how electricity has permeated every aspect of our lives and how it shapes the way we see our world.
“I wanted to explore our insatiable need for electricity and all the advantages it affords us,” Ebony says.
“I was also fascinated when last year our own Premier dismissed the need for air conditioning - it made me think - have we lost the ability to cope without all the ‘mod cons’”?
Opening at the Tu Stairwell Gallery in William Street, Northbridge, on Thursday 29 March, the exhibition runs until 14 April 2012.
Ebony has been behind the lens for 10 years, with three years spent travelling the world, camera in tow, gaining an appreciation of the built environment, urban landscapes and travel photography.
