Going to see the Sex and the City 2 premiere tonight – have a
girls night with a few cocktails and whatnot!
Of course, the best part of SATC
is the fashion! A reported $10 million budget for ‘Wardrobe’ alone, I expect to
see some pretty awesome dresses!!
Of course, the lady behind all this is Patricia Field,
costume & fashion designer and personal stylist. She has been nominated for
6 Costume Designers Guild awards and worked as a costume designer for The Devil
Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, Confessions of a Shopaholic and a few others as well.
Here is an interview with her from the Westfield site:
Is there
such a thing as a perfect date outfit?
You can approach a date in two ways. Do you want to try and impress your date and make them think that you’re someone you’re really not? Or do you want to be honest with your date and show them who you really are? I prefer the honest route because the truth will always come to the top. Don’t play around. It’s a waste of time.

What
advice can you give us when it comes to dressing for a special date?
Dress how you want to dress. If you want to add a splash of colour, do that. If you want to dress in black, do that. If you wear ruffles, wear ruffles on the date. If you’re chic and severe, don’t change your style because you’re going on a date to a fancy restaurant. You’re just going to fancy it up. Adjust your real self – and who you are – to the setting.

Is it
important to try and dress in designer clothing?
Not necessarily. It’s more about style and how you wear something rather than who or what you’re wearing. You can look more stylish in something inexpensive compared with an expensive, eye-popping outfit that you don’t look comfortable in. It’s all about comfort and dressing appropriately.

We are going to an event run by Pure Bar in Subiaco (Aptly named 'Sex in Subiaco') with raffles, a Chanel - inspired cake to be auctioned off and the bar is covered in lilys and a red carper. Its set to be a pretty fun night!
