Winter 2010 - Maurie & Eve
I am STILL on the hunt for wedge heel ankle boots that are
not too pricey ( I really do spend enough money on shoes, and they are a trend
shoe after all) and in my travels I have stumbled across Maurie and Eve’s
Winter 2010 collection. This is SO GREAT! I love long sleeved dresses, their
shoes are fab, love the skirts too;

Look of the day:
10 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT
COFFEE
1. 1. It wakes me up
2. 2. In my very, very air-conditioned office, it
keeps me warm
3. 3. It ties me over between meals
4. 4. If I walk around with coffee, I look like an
important businesswoman (which I am, of course)
5. 5. Meeting over ‘coffee’ is the best casual,
non-alcoholic kind of catching up
6. 6. It goes perfectly with my cigarettes
7. 7. It keeps my hands occupied and I don’t play with
my hair
8. 8. To cure hangovers
9. 9. To extend a dinner date for a couple more hours
The red in my shoes looks shocking in the light here, it looks almost orange :S
Tights have a ladder in them as well, which mean they keep falling down and gathering around my knee. Not the best photo, sorry!

Shop Review; Heaven Wrapped
I wanted to do an entry Pilgrim jewellery, because it
is by far one of my favourite jewellery and accessories brand. Im also going to do a quick run-over the shop Heaven Wrapped, a stockist of Pilgrim, which do a load of other great things :)
Pilgrim is a Danish
brand which started in 1983, they support various charities and have some
eco-friendly ranges for bags as well.
Very pretty and feminine, their range is based on necklaces
and bracelets that are individual and created using various charms and pendants
(similar to Pandora) and also do set pieces with assorted charms and beads.
They have white gold, crystal, silver, gold and some stones
as well. Their charms range from cute shoes and bag charms to hearts, angel
wings and globes.
My lastest purchase was this one>>
I also have a few other pendant to go on a chain necklace and a couple of bracelets, with charms for them too. Some of my favourites are;
Here are a few of their charms.
The best (and closest proximity to me) stockist is Heaven
Wrapped (93 Rokeby Road, Subiaco)
This is a a great store, stocking another great Danish
jewellery line, Dyrberg Kern.
I seriously recommend checking them out, Mothers Day is coming up as well, and this would be a great present :)
This store is really pretty, with a great lot of clutches and scarves and other things>
This shop is a top one for the races and Melbourne cup, heaps of hats, fascinators and clutch bags, in almost every colour, scarves and all are matching and you can pretty much guarantee that there will be something in this store to match whatever dress you buy.
They have some great Olga Berg bags and small handbags, but mostly clutches, the first thing you notice when you walk in is definitely they're great range of metal jewellery and the rainbow of colour across the wall from the hats and bags etc being displayed.
If you ever need to match a bag to a dress you have, or are missing any kind of unique colour accessory (lime green or deep velvet purple), I highly recommend you try this place first!

Style Inspiration
Heavy jewellery is one kind of style I adore. Multiple rings,
layered necklaces, strands of bracelets running up the wrist. I always mix
metals, the best way to do this without looking dishevelled or messy is to have
one or two pieces which have a combination of bronze, silver and gold in the
one piece. There are lots of jewellery around now with both silver and gold, as
the old rule ‘don’t mix metals’ was meant to be broken anyway :)
Watches are a good key piece for doing this, such as the
one below, allowing you to wear both metals in one outfit .
I am a big fan of metal jewellery (as opposed to beaded,
wooden and stones) however, I do like some colour, but most are quite neutral
to go with my wardrobe, such as greys, whites, blacks and browns.
A simple outfit is the best ‘blank canvas’ for this style,
black and grey can make any coloured jewellery and bright costume jewellery
stand up. Make the jewellery the focus of your outfit, rather than putting
together an elaborate look and then piling on loads of rings and necklaces as
well, this look is rarely effective.

Look of the day:
This is just another day at work, all ‘office chic’. Definitely
my 9-5 daywear is all high street fashion, nothing too crazy, I have a huge
work wardrobe so I just mix and match all week long.
The pants are my favourite style of work pants, belt loops,
long, wide leg with a fold down the middle of each leg. These are very long
though and a bit loose on me but I can’t give them up! You cant see my shoes
here (not only because the picture is cut off, but because the pants are so
long, they cover my shoes)
The bag is great, all purpose, everyday, haul around
everything from documents to water bottles to makeup, all day everyday. Simple,
classic style, chain handles, I use this as my to-and-from work bag the most,
it wasn’t expensive but nice and sturdy.
Red knit vest & white collared shirt: Hot Options, Black
seamed work pants; Supre, Black & white cheetah spot neck tie: Dotti, White
snakeskin pointy heels: Therapy, Black quilted bag: Target, Silver frame
diamante sunnies: Temt
Mini Trend;
Decorated, coloured and unique heels
As in literally the heel itself, and sometimes the platform
part too.
You may have noticed of late, shoes are beginning to have more
decorated and unique heels, either the shoe itself is a plain colour and the
heel is patterned OR the heel has different shapes and curves to it. I saw some high street ones in faux purple suede with dark
red, purple and navy snakeskin heels. Gorgeous!
(However I had already bought a pair of shoes that day and though I should
limit myself!)
Anyway, there are so many shoes around that have very different
patterns or shapes on the heel, being a huge shoe fanatic myself, I love buying
totally different and individual looking shoes, rather than being basic, the
shoes become the statement piece of your outfit.
Ones that I just have to mention are the AW 10/11 Dsquared
heels that have a spine-looking heel! Check out some pictures below, she heels
are skeleton like bones, I think they're fantastic! It gives the illusion that
your spine splits and travels down the back of both legs. They're on my
wishlist.
Some other awesome shoes with great heels are done by Valentino; These are not very new, but had to have a mention. Some of the prettiest shoes I have seen by far.
love, love, love the lace and the way it would look like its creeping up the back of your leg.. :)
