Ahh Christmas season. I was asked to post about this site and after checking it out I was impressed. The Pier 1 website is really visual and has a great photo and / or food stylist on board!
A must have this holiday season (and every holiday season) is the ability to host a dinner parties or entertain your friends. And this season, looks like the best place to get everything in one spot is Pier 1.
I was really impressed by the layout of their site, the huge range of dinnerware & entertaining,...well stuff! (Perfect for holiday gifts as well, if you're still stuck for ideas, everyone can use more glassware and table decorations in the festive season!) Their platters and glasses are lain out and riddled with Christmas food, set out on table and it looks really good.
Food styling isn’t easy, and it’s much more difficult than prop styling as the harsh lights & the heat can have some serious effects on the way the food looks!
Have a look at the photo below;
Doesn’t this look amazing? Makes me want to put on a get together. These mini trifle bowls, and round bowls are something that most people don’t have in their cupboard, but they have so many uses! I love the way this photo has been styled.
The placement of celery in the bowls, a few blue napkins and the placement of spoons and forks in some glasses. These can all give you great ideas for when you next hold a dinner party. The way the cream sits on top of the fruit, and then they’ve added just one or two more pieces on top as well.
Take a look at this visual feast! Stylists have to take in everything that adds elements to a photo. The colour scheme, the table runner and the rug that they have left showing is all on purpose. The way the breadsticks and thinly sliced lemon slices face opposite ways along each row, the centrepiece with flowers, the bottles of wine in the background, even the parts that are blurry have been deliberately placed to give the photo background and depth.
My favourite item is the small bowls and all the glassware! I love the Black and white theme, always classic and element and let the food and drinks add the colour and be the standout.
I love the stylish nature of all these photos, makes a big difference from the reality, which is cheap cracked old patterned plates lying around in your drawers.
SO I suggest you get onto a great site like this and let it inspire you to have the most stylish Christmas yet!
P.S. they’re also supporting Toys for Tots and donating $1 from every person who ‘likes’ their facebk page!
