The Cannes Film Festival was on the other day, so its time for more celebrity bitching! For those of you who don’t know what the festival is all about click here.
This woman is scary, very burlesque of course, but a little scary. I'm not a huge fan of orange and cant comprehend why someone would smother themselves in it! I'm not really understanding the sleeves of the dress either, but its a great photo with her pose / expression and all the paps in the background!
I am actually a fan of this dress, I love the colour combination and the large bubble-like sequins make for a bit of a change from all the sequin dresses we have been seeing on red carpets of late. The watercolour paint print is really nice and despite the robustness of the woman wearing it, it’s a very floaty and feminine dress.
This dress is kinda cool, a little bit Moulin-Rouge, a little bit feather and glitzy but something different and I think its pretty cool. She could’ve stepped her game up with the shoes, they're not anything interesting. Nice shoes, but I don’t really think they add much to this outfit. Another burlesque girl anyway, so I think she looks quite the part.
This dress is pretty glam, very intricate, I'm not a fan of spaghetti strap dresses so that’s a downside, otherwise, killer train, this dress shows off her curves which is always good. Cant see her hair well or her shoes, her earrings are some nice bling though...lets face it, Eva always looks good.
I (not so) secretly love this dress! its cheeky, its arty its interesting, its flirty, its sexy red, the platform stripper shoes make this outfit very one of a kind, and as a star in the burlesque film On Tour, she looks the part and I think it makes her a good entertainer. You would have to have guts and a little cheeky smile to wear this and I think she pulled it off and just had fun with it!
This dress is great in theory. It is a cool print, interesting looking material and I like the corset bodice section. The skirt and the cut make this an odd choice and its a bit too puffy for my liking. The cut at the front of the skirt stops at an odd place on her body and I'm not a big fan of her shoes either. Could be good, but didn’t quite get there.
Mermaid tail dresses are old. They are very rarely done well and with tulle and see through meshing, this looks really untidy. I really hate the off the shoulder look combined with a large collar along the top of the dress as well. black is a very unoriginal colour as well and her jet black hair don’t help the overall effect.
This is a WHOLE LOT OF BLING. Her dress would be reflecting light everywhere like a disco ball gone crazy. The large cuff bracelets give this outfit a very futuristic feel which is on trend but I cant tell whether it has see through parts of bits of colour, I'm assuming this would just reflect everything she’s near which is maybe a bit too much. The hemline looks messy as well although I do like the top part and the one shoulder look. She hasn’t gone over the top with hair which is quite natural looking. Whatever the hell is in her hand though is very out of place. I hope its not her bag because it looks like an gigantic woolly scarf. Not the time or the place, honey.
This is a pretty bad look, the main part of the bodice and the skirting is ok and again, the idea is there, it just didn’t quite come through. The top of this doesn’t look very good at all, her skin tone doesn’t suit the nude / beige tone of the dress and so her décolletage where the mesh is see-through makes her look pasty and washed out.
This is a very simple cut and not the way I would mix two different metals (gold & silver). The silver dress is ok, except – where are her boobs? The clutch purse is very small but cute and I don’t mind it, the shoes don’t look good through and with minimal makeup and hair and jewellery, she looks a but under-dressed.
This is an awesome dress, this is how to do beige the right way, I love the detailing, I love the fading in of the colour on the bottom, it makes her look taller and slimmer. The detailing around the shoulders is really nice as well. I don’t like her choice of bag, I think she should have gone with a nude or cream bag but her earrings work well with this outfit as well.
I have mixed feelings about this dress. if it was strapless and have the sequin detailing up the one side where the split it would have looked nice or if the feature was the one shoulder with the sequin detail. The combination of both makes her look unbalanced and clutters her dress somewhat. The colour is great though, the shoes work well and red lips with this makes the outfit.
This dress is ok, I don’t like the ‘falling off the shoulders’ look here, it would look better being a wide scoop neck but coming up onto her shoulders a bit more. Otherwise, the detailing is nice, the bodice design makes her look fatter than she is, her hips look wide but she doesn’t look bad. The train on this is a bit untidy as well this dress could’ve just had a more A-line skirt without the train and looked fine.
This is floaty and fluffy and awesome, this picture doesn’t show the detailing of the bodice part, but she has really nice beading detail scattered all throughout layers of tulle. I think this dress is really pretty, very princess-like and the skirt is really full. The small bit of tulle across her one shoulder is really delicate and her hair and earrings match her outfit as well. She looks glam and classy all at once!
This is a pretty awesome dress. wicked chinese / ninja looking inspired design, black silver and white is always a strong combo. The huge burst of tulle down the bottom makes this more feminine which suits her more than just black and white. Tulle is the fabric of the moment on red carpets it seems. Simple bracelet tops this off, I like it :)
And last but not least, a fishtail that DOES work. Simple and elegant, nice material, the cut is nice, the straps and shoulder and draped cleavage area balance out the tail, it isn’t too long or too flashy. Simple yet effective.
