Patrick Mohr has caused a collective gasp from many fashionistas all
around the world after presenting his collection at the Berlin Fashion Week.
Much of his collection was unisex clothing – some articles closely resembling
boxer shorts. His models hair and makeup was done so that they were bald(!)
sporting whiskers and wispy beards.
This is not the first time he has done so though, often breaking out of
the traditional runway glamour, having used homeless people for models before,
models with visible scars and bodybuilder muscles as well as orange spray tans.
His website says of him
“excentric, somewhat
provocative, outspoken, and very straightforward. His fashion ranges between avantgardist
and streetwear, being far from a glamorous appearance.”
Patrick Mohr says of this 2010 “Are We Shaved” titled collection;
“In the end, it always comes down to one thing: men and women are
one. I only see one human being, one person. For me, it all starts from that
perspective.”
Have a look at the pics below. What’s your perspective?
to answer your question... i kinda like it. not in the "wow this is so beautiful" kind of way, but in the "wow, that's really different and weird" kind of way. patrick mohr is interesting, you gotta give him that much. and i like it when designers aren't afraid to express themselves eccentrically if that's who they are. it's a whole hell of a lot better than being just like everyone else.
